Vulgar Goat is part of our Folkore Apothecary line. In this line we draw on traditional folk remedies, and the use of plants, havested right here at the farm and add them to our 100% natural.products, taking advantage of their unique skin benefits.
Lilac bushes are also known as syringa vulgaris, so what better name for our lilac-infused soap than Vulgar Goat? (..and we have a few goats that tell some saucy jokes!)
Does this smell like fresh cut lilacs? No.....since there is no true essential oil of lilac, it's really not possible to capture the exact scent of lilacs in a product. If you have soap, or a candle, etc.. that smells just like lilacs, it is made with a synthetic, fragrance oil. We use only 100% natural ingredients in our soap, including essential oils for scent and skin benefit.
So...what does it smell like? This soap has a very, very, light and pleasant scent with just a hint of floral and a bit of earthiness, its very nice!
So..why make a lilac soap that doesn't smell like lilacs.
Lilacs are said to have many skin benefits when used in skincsre products. It is said to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as reducing skin sagging, promoting glowing and healthy skin. Due to its antibacterial properties, Lilac is said to help heal rashes, cuts, and scrapes. It is saod to work against acne, eczema, psoriasis, and sunburn, reducing inflammation and itching
Why is this soap a bit more expensive than our other soaps? The processes of getting the lilacs into the soap is very labor intensive/time consuming, so the price has to be bumped up a bit to make it worth all the work for a very limited number of bars.
We used 2 methods for putting lilacs (fresh from our farm) into this wonderful soap. We know you and your skin will love it!
Aprox 4 oz bar (most are bigger)
Raw goat milk, saponified oils of avocado, coconut, olive, shea butter. Lilac flowers, lilac infusion, essential oil.
